Fatalisim is not the answer to the dilemma we find ourselves in this country – proactive and contributory to resolving the issues that face our country right now – I choose not to vote for the lesser of 2 evils; a third party in our political system is what we need to bring our country back to its roots not overwhelming of the system to bring deception, fraud, lies and more lies. I say vote for the janitor and if he does not get the job done, vote him out and start a new party and quit sitting on the couch looking at the media propaganda to give you intelligence on the current take over by who?

Corporate liberals, in these days, are moderate rightwingers, as opposed to the hard right of the GOP/Tea Party. In fact, even in their heyday with JFK and LBJ, they had the blood of empire of their hands. The only progressive grouping we have in Congress these days is the 80 votes in the Congressional Progressive Caucus. We need to elect more of them, and on their platform, not that of the DNC/DLC

As to what got us here, I could write a book on the topic of the ultraleft’s utter failure over the decades to develop a decent set of strategy and tactics regarding elections. Instead it worships at the altar of warmed-over Bakuninism, which is really rather old.

If you have a better proposal, make it. That’s what the blog is for.

Obama is not a “corporate liberal”. He is, at best, a moderate right-winger — and that is being charitable. He is a criminal, a felony murderer, a shredder of the Constitution, an enemy of fundamental civil liberties, a good friend of mega-fraudsters and thieves, etc., etc.

But — oh yes — the “reality of the political moment” requires me to set all that aside, and vote for him. Yo.

It is just this style of thinking that has got us to where we are today: a crazy march to the right, over decades, and now we’re voting for near-fascists as “the lesser of the two evils”.

Explaining how Obama has never been a progressive, but a corporate liberal representing a faction of Empire, with a policy of ‘austerity and war in slow motion’ is not much of an ‘apologia.’ We didn’t ask you to support him either, just to vote for him as a way to block Romney and Ryan, for reasons that should be obvious by the rest of our argument. But if you have a better strategic or even tactical approach to this election, you’re welcome to spell it out here. –Carl Davidson

Although this article is well written, interesting and oriented toward the pragmatic and practical, for me, the intensity of US atrocities against human rights and the planet has become so great that whoever is president of the “team” committing the atrocities only appears to allow more room for maneuver by those attempting to stave of specie suicide.

The US government is now a full-on a rogue terrorist state owned and operated by corporations completely divorced from the human moral compass. I believe we have crossed a line to a point where it is best for those grossed out by the spectacle of governmental violence to boycott the election and thereby remove the charade of legitimacy.

Democracy is an ancient, organic human tool, humanity will create a new and modern leaderless information-age democracy that includes the economy or perish.
